The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany.

Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

We are currently seeking candidates for a 3-year apprenticeship as a Track Builder / Civil Engineering Specialist (m/f/d) for DB InfraGO AG at our locations in Bestwig or Fröndenberg (Ruhr).

The vocational school is located in Essen and the training workshop is in Duisburg.

What to expect in your apprenticeship:

  • You will work with your team on construction sites, maintaining our railway tracks
  • Together, you will lay tracks and switches, inspect our rails for any defects, and replace damaged parts
  • You will also renew the stones and gravel layers under the tracks, using modern machinery to make the work easier
  • Your attention to detail will ensure a smooth train ride for passengers by maintaining precise measurements
  • After your apprenticeship, you will be an essential part of the team, responsible for ensuring the safe and smooth transportation of passengers to their destinations

Your profile:

  • You have (or will soon have) completed your education
  • You prefer working outdoors rather than in an office
  • You are dedicated and reliable
  • You enjoy working in a team and are willing to lend a hand
  • You welcome the opportunity to work in different locations, at different times, and even during night shifts
