As the Director of Business Development for our organization's PolicyPort (Software-as-a-Service, policy administration) product, you will be responsible for leading all sales efforts to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives.

Your primary goal will be to build a pipeline, drive sales and expand our customer base while maintaining our reputation for excellent customer service.

This role will play a crucial part in helping our company achieve its goal of becoming a leader in the insurance technology industry.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute sales strategies to close sales, achieve revenue targets and growth objectives for the PolicyPort product.
  • Build and lead the sales team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their success.
  • Identify and prospect potential clients through product marketing, industry events, conferences and other opportunities to build relationships and generate leads.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners, working to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments, identifying new market opportunities and helping to shape the future direction of the PolicyPort product.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including product development, customer service and marketing, to ensure that sales efforts are aligned with overall company objectives.
  • Develop and maintain sales reports, metrics, and forecasts to monitor and analyze sales performance.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activity to ensure our platform meets the evolving needs of the industry.
  • Be instrumental in building a pipeline and closing prospects.
  • Represent and build excitement about the brand.

Tools and Reporting Responsibilities:


  • Utilize CRM software and other sales tools to manage and track leads, prospects, and sales activity.
  • Prepare regular reports and analysis on sales performance, as well as market trends and opportunities.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management regarding sales metrics, forecasts, and performance.

Decision Making Authority:


  • Determine sales strategies and tactics to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives.
  • Make decisions on pricing, contract negotiations, sales terms, and other salesrelated matters.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Strong leadership and management skills with a proven track record in sales, preferably in the insurance industry, and leading a sales team.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationshipbuilding skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Indepth knowledge of sales principles, practices, and techniques, with a particular focus on software and technology sales.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Experience with CRM software and other sales tools, as well as a strong aptitude for technology.
  • High integrity sales approach focused on communicating and delivering value.
  • Great presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills along with astute persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Develop and own events strategy and execution.

Education and/or Experience:


  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, including 5+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record of success in SaaSbased technology sales, with experience selling to the insurance industry highly preferred.

Work Environment:


  • This role will require up to 50% travel to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • The position may require occasional evening and weekend work to meet with clients in different time zones.
