Responsibilities:


  • Completes duties according tot he requirements of each procedure needing radiological support
  • Assembles necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduling procedures according to physician's preferences
  • Tests and monitors equipment for proper working condition
  • Accurately comprehends and interprets verbal orders and direction
  • Confirms that all persons in the room are appropriately shielded before activating xray
  • Applies prescribed procedures to competently perform radiology technician functions
  • Follows principles of aseptic technique in performing duties during the procedure
  • Follows manufacturer's specifications and OSHA guidelines when performing xray procedures
  • Performs required maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • AMA approved Radiology Technician Certification/Training
  • Current Fluoroscopy License Required
  • Current AHA BLS Certification

Qualifications and Skills

  • ASC experience preferred
  • C-Arm experience required
  • Strong ethical and moral character references
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians and with their office personnel, coworkers, and other healthcare facilities in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner
  • Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, and general public
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems
  • Language skills adequate for highlevel written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English
