- Calibrating, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment
- Demonstrating dexterity and precise eye-hand coordination while collecting and preparing specimens
- Upholding lab safety and infection prevention protocols
- Conducting tests in various areas of the lab such as clinical chemistry, hematology, transfusion services, clinical immunology, clinical microbiology, serology, and molecular diagnostics
- Matching computer orders with specimen labeling, sorting specimens, checking labeling, logging specimens, and preparing reports for delivery
- Ensuring quality results, verifying equipment functionality, troubleshooting, calibrating equipment, and monitoring quality control measures
- Engaging in staff training and educational programs, identifying abnormal patient conditions, and reporting required information to health authorities
- Creating a safe environment following established standards and regulations, maintaining patient confidentiality
- MT/MLS: Bachelor's degree in science and MLS(ASCP) certification or equivalent
- MLT: Associates degree in science and MLT(ASCP) certification or equivalent
- One to two years of relevant experience
