    Description


    Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer with 2 to 5 years experience to join our Orlando or Carson City, NV office working on transportation projects for clients including FDOT, Toll Agencies, Counties and private clients.

    The right candidate will be a member of an integrated design team, and will be responsible

    for developing project designs, plans, quantities, cost estimates and specifications while working directly under licensed Engineers.

    Duties and responsibilities

    Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering +2 years of related experience
    Experience in transportation roadway design
    Proficient with CADD - Microstation, Geopak
    Communicate effectively with those contacted in performing duties.
    Learn and apply established principles and practices of civil engineering.

    Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of duties and to work as a team.

    Design and preparation of documents for:

    Minor and major roadway
    Sidewalks
    Shoulder improvements
    Drainage design projects

    Duties include assisting a project manager with tasks associated with:

    Plan preparation
    Cost estimates
    Report writing
    Client coordination
    Permitting


    Software design experience should include:
    Working with Microstation
    Autocad and other additional cad platforms
    Civil 3D

    Qualifications
    2-5 years' experience working with an engineering consulting firm
    A Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
    Experience working with State DOT projects is a Plus
    Strong communication skills
    Professional Engineer registration. Florida preferred.
    Working conditions
    General office work environment; occasional extended hours or weekends to meet deadlines.
    Physical requirements
    No unusual physical requirements; must be able to navigate field and construction site conditions occasionally.
