Tamarack Preserve, Ltd., a private membership club in Millbrook, NY, is looking for a Chef to join our team.

We have established a well-deserved reputation for offering our members and their guests a consistently excellent fine dining experience with quality cuisine and service.

The restaurant is open Thursday-Sunday with occasional other days for special events.

The job duties include but are not limited to:


Responsibilities:

• Assist with prepping ingredients for food service
• Assist on the line during service in any position salad, grill, sauté etc
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace in all areas, following all sanitation guidelines
• Address issues and problems as they arise in a professional and efficient manner
• Bring innovative, seasonal offering ideas to the menu

Requirements:

• Must be dependable with a positive attitude with a desire to contribute to a team
• 2+ years experience in a similar role within a fine dining establishment
• Baking experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques and food pairings preferred
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Willing to work 1012 hour shifts
• Weekends are required
• Good knowledge of all industry standards and procedures

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The employee is regularly required to walk and stand during entire shift.
• The employee frequently must lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• The employee frequently bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and lifts.
• The employee works primarily indoors in a hot, damp environment with some work done outside.
