- Manage the financial accounts of the entity, including monthly accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
- Establish and maintain an environment of controls and compliance in line with Vesuvius standards during transition from family business to public company
- Analyze manufacturing variances to understand financial performance in cooperation with operations team and identify improvement opportunities
- Responsible for managing and updating standard costs in local ERP system; costing support will include actual products as well as new product inquiries
- Support and provide input into planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
- Produce ad hoc reports as required to enable decision making
- Accuracy and timeliness of month end close
- Internal and external audit performance
- Gross margin and inventory for business unit
- Bachelor's degree in relevant business or technical field
- 3+ years of experience with financial controls in a manufacturing setting
- 5+ years of experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing setting
- Prior work with ERP software preferred; JD Edwards a plus
- Expert knowledge of cost accounting and financial accounting
- Working knowledge of MS Office with strength in MS Excel

Purpose:
Work to ensure the financial integrity of the Vesuvius business unit, including an accurate and timely close (both P&L and B/S). Accountable for ongoing development and maintenance of product costs; partner with operations to trace costs back to underlying business activities. Support business as partner to Plant Manager to drive plant savings
