The Opportunity


Our US Land team is evolving to meet the evolving needs of our growing business and to support landowner relationships.


We are seeking service-oriented, high energy Land Contract Analyst that will be the liaison between internal groups such as Operations, Crossing Engineers, Integrity and Engineering Services and Legal, as well as external Third Parties/Applicants.

You will have the proven skills and competencies to deliver value to US Land and various internal groups by reviewing, analyzing, and processing land contracts and related documents for TC Energy.

Your primary focus will be on US Crossings and Payment Transfers.

This position will be based in Charleston, West Virginia or Houston, Texas, within the US Land Team.

What you'll do

  • Process changes in ownership related to ongoing land rights rental payments (aka Payment Transfers)
  • Coordinate and issue crossing agreements within the US Crossings system.
  • Submit approved Major Crossing or Encroachment Agreements to the Third-Party for signature.
  • Issue fully executed Encroachment Agreements.
  • Record the Encroachment Agreement in the Land Services database.
  • Day to day administration of surface contracts, easements, and leases with a talent for solving complex land issues
  • Reviewing and analyzing land contracts, purchase agreements, and related documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Identifying discrepancies or issues with land contracts, and working with stakeholders to resolve them
  • Conducting research on legal and regulatory requirements related to land contracts and real estate transactions
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders, including landowners, buyers, sellers, attorneys, and title companies
  • Updating and maintaining land databases and files
  • Creating reports and presentations on land contract analysis
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to land contracts and real estate transactions
  • Requesting and ensuring all land right payments are paid in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Provide the Manager, US Land Administration with updates and elevate issues accordingly
  • Effectively respond to and resolve landowner and other stakeholder queries in a timely manner
  • Ability to pull and interpret surface data and reports from a variety of sources
  • Updating, tracking and maintaining surface records/information in the land system and the physical land files
  • Ensuring all land obligations, expiries, and commitments are met and tracked appropriately in the land system
  • Supporting the Regional Land Representative team as required
  • Perform tasks with limited oversight and resolve issues using established guidelines, procedures and policies, within level of accountability

Qualifications:


  • A bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, finance, or real estate or applicable work experience (a minimum of 5+ years)
  • Knowledge of land contracts and real estate transactions
  • Experience working with legal and regulatory requirements related to land contracts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database software.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills using sound judgment and an aptitude for research
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to participate effectively in a dynamic team environment
  • Pleasant and professional manner with a strong customer service focus
  • Keen interest in delivering results in a timely and efficient manner
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multitask
