- Collaborates with other departments across the organization to gather data for tax return preparation;
- Assists with various tax planning and research projects such as the review of proposed transactions and new business initiatives; prepares written memorandums documenting findings.
- Prepares quarterly and annual tax provisions for financial statements including gathering data, analyzing results, and communicating outcomes;
- Monitors tax and accounting rules for changes applicable to the Company.
- Researches and responds to queries from tax authorities and requests from external auditors;
- Performs analytical review of corporate tax balances.
- Researches open items for assigned reconciliations; communicates with team members to resolve and clear any outstanding issues.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual indirect tax returns. Completes tax accounting and reconciliations. Prepares provisions for financial statements including gathering data, analyzing results, and communicating outcomes;
- Provides clerical and/or administrative support for the corporate tax department as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent field.
- Broad theoretical knowledge of taxation practices and reporting procedures.
- Ability to follow guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to focus on details to ensure and maintain data accuracy.
- Proficient data entry skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
