Your RoleAs a Senior Interior Designer with Gensler's Science/Industrial/
Mission Critical
Practice Areas, you are passionate about your craft and combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients.
Our depth of expertise spans disciplines—from sports facilities, training centers, and convention centers to education, hospitality, retail, workplaces, and more.
What You Will Do- Team leader of interior design projects that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation- Engage in marketing and business development efforts- Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting- Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction- Provide design support and documentation during the completion and execution of design concepts- Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators- Integrate new technology and tools on projects (AR, VR, computational design, etc.)- Foster and cultivate a culture of design of the office and strive to elevate design quality on projects.
Your Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design- NCIDQ/CID required- 10+ years of interior design experience- Demonstrated success in delivering Science/Industrial/Mission Critical facilities- Comfortable in Revit, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max and other modeling software programs Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications- Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
