The Problems You'll Solve
The National Service Events and Program Support Coordinator will support NYC Service's national
service (AmeriCorps) programs, reporting to the National Service Professional Development & Member
Support Director.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
_Member Professional Development _
- Develop elements of the curriculum for professional development for NYC Service AmeriCorps
- Plan and execute elements of member orientations and monthly member training for all of NYC
trainers, managing staff roles and placement for those days and leading selected elements of
training.
- Create and analyze training evaluation plan and surveys, to gauge effectiveness of training and
- Develop and oversee trainingfacing NYC Service member and host site resources including the
library.
- Support the National Service Professional Development & Member Support Director in
_Member Events and Engagement _
- Lead key events that support the member experience throughout the program year including
Recognition Event.
- Lead the development of affinity groups which exist to give members a leadership role and a
- Plan and execute social activities and events based on members interests and engagement
- Support alumni engagement efforts.
_Member Management and Program Support _
- Lead the procurement of inkind donations to support member training (space, food,
- Serve as the program coordinator for the Young Adult Success Corps Program.
- Work with the Department of Probation (DOP) to oversee the participation of 8 Young Adult
- Success Corps (YASC) AmeriCorps members who are currently under probation supervision.
- Conduct site visits in partnership with DOP for YASC members.
- Monitor YASC member hours and approve timesheets, ensuring they meet program hours.
- Coordinate the monthly collection, reporting, and validation of metrics from AmeriCorps
- Partner with DOP to lead host site and member recruitment for the program year including but

- Represent NYC Service at select events.
- Be available on select weekends and on select evenings for projects.
- Provide project support with other service activities and programs, as needed, including

- Bachelor's Degree OR High School Diploma + 3 years relevant experience (Minimum)
- Background in training, curriculum development or event management a STRONG plus
- Commitment to service year programs and volunteerism (AmeriCorps alumni a plus)
- Experience or comfort in individual counseling, problem solving, and guiding others through
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Capable of managing against goals and working under tight deadlines
- Strong written and oral communicator
- Experience in relationship management
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills
