LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking to fill a Senior Accountant job opportunity for an East Bay company located in Berkeley, CA.

The position is 100% in-office. The right candidate should have 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant and comfortable with non-profit accounting.

The job will be responsible for managing the month, quarter, and year-end close, financial statement preparation, financial reporting, audit preparation, and assist on ad hoc projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for processing monthly general ledger close procedures
Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, analyze variances, and provide supporting documents for audit review
Oversee staff members and their preparation of reconciliations and journal entries
Provide ad hoc search, reports, analysis of expenses and balance sheet accounts
Assist in the annual budget process
Participate in operational strategies, seek improvements, establish policies and procedures, and document

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required (CPA a plus)
Industry experience with a nonprofit would be preferred
Strong technical accounting knowledge knowing your general accounting debits and credits (GAAP)
Software experience with a medium to large ERP package
Attention to detail, problemsolver, analytical, and organized
Strong communications (written & verbal)
Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel
Advanced, Word & Outlook)

Experience: 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant

$45.00 to $50.00 per hour
