    Description

    Molly Moons shift leaders are a leadership presence when a shops manager or assistant manager is not present, this shift leader will work in both our Queen Anne and Wallingford locations. They are key-holders responsible for leading opening and closing tasks, including detailed cash handling. They model and reinforce molly moons best practices around communication, customer service, food safety, and product consistency for themselves and their scooping team. This role is a fantastic non-seasonal job with hours in the summer *and* winter. Candidates should embody our core values of being smart, generous, joyful, homemade, and brave and thrive in an inclusive and diverse environment. * Function as the manager on duty responsible for all business execution during their shift including cash handling, cleanliness, playing fun upbeat music, keeping team morale high, and delighting our customers.

    Manage and prioritize flow of tasks, breaks, and scooping during shift

    Responsible for cash handling during shift, including open/close and deposits

    Communicate company goals effectively with all employees, including giving direction, coaching, training, and celebrating wins

    Model respectful management and communication tactics

    Problem solve and use good judgment

    Hustle and lead others to keep the shop looking great and fully stocked

    + Continually stock ice cream, sorbet, waffle cones, and merchandise

    + Operate cash register; follow Molly Moons cash handling procedures

    + Wash tubs and dishes throughout your shift

    + Keep shop inviting and clean: inside and out, front and back

    + Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines with care

    + Other duties as assigned

    Prior experience in leadership or management position with teams larger than 3

    Able to work a minimum of 25 hours and/or 4 shifts per week. Typical shifts are between 5-8 hours long and are scheduled between 9am-Midnight every day

    Between May 1 and Sept 31 vacations may not exceed 10 days. Vacations are subject to manager approval based on shift coverage, staffing, and business need

    In the winter months between Oct 1 and April 30 vacations may not exceed 21 days. Vacations are subject to manager approval based on shift coverage, staffing, and business need

    Willingness to pick up shifts in other shops on occasion strongly preferred

    Have great communication skills, a professional, friendly attitude, and thrive in a high energy environment

    Have retail or client/customer service experience

    Be over 18 in order to work late nights. Most shifts are closing shifts and are scheduled until midnight

    Be available to work at least two closing weekend shifts (Friday-Sunday)

    Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis and be comfortable doing repetitive physical tasks

    Have access to a phone that can text and make calls

    Have access to the internet

    Molly Moons is a tobacco free companywe do not hire smokers

    Washington state food handlers permit required

    Verification of vaccination against Covid-19 is a requirement for employment at Molly Moons. We also strongly encourage all mooncrew to receive booster shots when eligible and offer $100 bonuses to everyone who already has one, or chooses to get one after being hired. Medical and religious exemptions are considered in accordance with state and federal guidelines. There is no test out option.

    $23.50/hour starting wage with incremental, merit-based raises

    Sick and Safe Pay accrued hourly at a rate with 16 hours front loaded at start date

    Flexible scheduling, posted 2 weeks at a time with the ability to trade shifts

    Eligible for vacation PTO after working 2,000 hours

    Zero premium, high-quality medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their dependents) that work at least 20 hours per week on average over a period of 6 weeks. New employees are eligible for health insurance 60 days after the first day of the first full month of employment. Molly Moons pays 100% of premium for qualifying employees and their children. That means its free A spouse may also be insured on company plan at the employees expense.

    Supplemental paid family leave benefits for employees who qualify for and receive PFML. Molly Moons will pay the difference between the paid PFML benefit and 100% of an employees regular hourly earnings for the duration of your ESD approved leave up to a maximum of 18 weeks

    401k with employer match of 1% in the first year of participation, 2% year 2, and 3% year three. Employees are eligible for 401k participation when they have worked at Molly Moons for 12 consecutive months.
