- Required Travel: May float to AP2 Behavioral Health

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Essential Functions_
- Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of Swedish Hospital and demonstrates a service orientation and adheres to all responsibilities and standards of the Hospital.
Inpatient Duties:
- Responds to the immediate needs of the patient by answering patient call lights promptly and courteously.
- As directed, by RN, makes hourly or more frequent rounds on patients for safety, comfort, and meeting patients' needs/requests
- Positions, lifts, transfers, and ambulates patients as directed by the RN; use of Safe Patient Handling equipment
- Assist with setting up meals for patients and ordering meals
- Keeps patient rooms tidy, refreshes patient's linen as need, removes unnecessary equipment and linen
- Assists patient with simple hygiene/comfort measures such as washing hands/face and oral care
- As directed by the RN, transports patient to other departments or during discharge
- When directed by the RN, remains with the patient continuously for patient safety.
- Handles infectious waste and linen according to established hospital procedure
- Adheres to proper infection control standards and hand washing techniques to avoid cross contamination
- Cleans and disinfects unit specific equipment
- Answers phones and/or cover/assist Unit Concierge as needed during the shift
- Acts as a "Runner" to other departments, when needed to obtain necessary items for patient care
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS
- Direct contact or phone contact with patients and medical staff.
- Wear an N95 mask / PAPR and other PPE
- Walking, bending, stooping, long periods of stationary standing, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Must be able to assist with occasional heavy lifting of 100+ pounds.
