The Instructional Coach position at JUMP East Hanover plays a pivotal role in supporting Kindergarten through 5th grade teachers to implement evidence-based instructional practices aligned with our school's new instructional framework.

This position is dedicated to the continuous professional development of our teachers and instructional staff, ensuring the implementation of impactful instructional practices that optimize student learning in every classroom.

We are looking for someone with high expectations for all students and a deep passion for instructional excellence.

Strong pedagogical knowledge:


  • A deep understanding of evidencebased, crosscontent instructional practices in elementary education

Instructional Coaching:


  • Provide targeted support to individual teachers based on student learning needs, including meeting with teachers and families to develop and implement academic action plans as necessary.

  • Understanding diverse cultural experiences and backgrounds to ensure culturallyresponsive coaching practices and student needs

-Coaching Conversations:


  • Establish trust and build relationships that result in collaborative partnership and that facilitate authentic coaching conversations that lead to improvement

Strategic Coaching Plan Design:


  • Identify targeted skills and practices and, in partnership with the teacher (coachee), create a roadmap for coaching improvement

-Data Analysis:


  • Competency in analyzing student data from various sources to inform next coaching and instructional steps

-Professional Development Design and Delivery:


  • Skill in designing and delivering adult learning, PD sessions focused on instructional practices aligned to the instructional framework as well as curricular standards

-Coaching Cycles: Conducting regular coaching cycles with individual teacher
- setting goals, modeling, observing, collecting data, feedback and reflection


-Lesson Modeling:


  • Modeling and/ or coteaching lessons to demonstrate how to implement evidencebased instructional strategies

-Curriculum Mapping and Alignment:


  • Collaborating with others to ensure curricular alignment and tha instructional coaching aligns with the curriculum standards for each grade level and content area

-Professional Learning Communities:


  • Facilitating gradelevel or contentarea collaborative team meetings focused on the standards and measuring student learning.

-Data Meetings:


  • Facilitating meetings where teachers analyze data, identify trends, problem solve barriers and generate strategies to address obstacles to student learning

-Professional Development Sessions:


  • Designing highquality professional learning that aligns with how adults learn best and focuses on the instructional practices that support student learning and facilitating PD through engaging collaborative structures and relevant content

Job Type:
Part-time


Pay:
$ $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
