- Perform inspections Receipt Inspections (RI) and Damage-In Transit Inspections DIT) on ammunition arriving by commercial carrier and input results into Munitions History Program (MHP).
- Process Unit Turn-ins which include inspection of ammunition items IAW DA PAM 742-1 and other applicable publications or drawings, verifying and repackaging ammunition items and components, providing Quality Control of standard and non-standard markings and light containers (less than quantity package), and assignment of condition code (coding ammunition) to ammunition items for serviceable/unserviceable.
- Process ammunition received from Amnesty Box or turned in as Found on Installation (FOI) by units.
- Perform administrative document clearance procedures which include the processing DA Form 3151-R for suspension and restriction checks, reviewing and distribution of Ammunition Information Notices (AIN) and Notices of Ammunition Reclassification (NAR), Preparation of Material Condition Tags which include Serviceable Tags (DD Form 1574 and DD Form Orange or Yellow), Test/Modification Tags (DD Form 1576 and DD Form Blue), Suspended Tag (DD Form 1575 and DD Form Brown), Unserviceable(Repairable) Tag (DD Form and DD Form Green), and Unserviceable (Condemned) Tag (DD Form 1577 and DD Form RED), Prepare DD Form DOD MULTIMODAL DANGEROUS GOOS DECLARATION) which develops ammunition load plans for units drawing ammunition from the ASP to ensure compatibility and load capacity is not violated and prepare and Army Material Command (AMC) Form 4508 (Ammunition Transfer Record).
- Inspect vehicles IAW DD form 626 MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTION (TRANSPORTING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS) prior to entering the ASP for compliance with existing regulations.
- Ensure load is properly secured and placarded In accordance with CFR 49 and applicable regulations prior to exiting the ASP.
- Inspect commercial vehicles delivering to the Fort Benning ASP (DIT and or RI).
- Conduct serviceability inspections of ammunition brought or returned to the ASP (Unit Turn-Ins) and ensure ammunition is safe, repackaged properly for storage and accounted for prior to being delivered to the storage location at the ASP (Unit Turn-Ins).
- Ensure ammunition is properly packaged and marked for storage and transport.
- Performs identification and classification of returned material. This involves the handling, breakdown, inspection, reassembling, repacking and marking as required.
- Perform Arms room inspections or related inspections in support of the Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP)
- Perform other duties as required by the ASP Operations Supervisor, Quality Assurance Specialist Ammunition Surveillance (QASAS) and ASP Manager.
- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
- The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
- The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
- Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must be able to provide US Citizenship documentation, such as a birth certificate or passport.
- Must be able to pass the background check to have unaccompanied access to arms, ammunition and explosives.
- Preferred experience -two years' specialized ammunition-handling experience.
- Must be able to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- A good working knowledge of DA PAM 385-64, DA PAM 742-1, Mil Standard 129, AR 190-11, DA Pam , Inventory Management; DA Pam , Munitions History Program (MHP), and Munitions Transportation Management System (MTMS).
- An understanding of the needs of the organization serviced.
- Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.

The Supply Technician- ASP Surveillance. This position performs limited aspects of supply management work as it pertains to ammunition to include but, not limited to inventory management, storage management, cataloging, property utilization, and surveys, related to ammunition supply point activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management and ammunition surveillance operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines.
