Responsibilities:


As the Culinary Director, you'll be tasked with upholding and enhancing standards of quality, conduct, customer service, and productivity within the Dietary Department.

It's crucial to instill a deep appreciation among staff for the Dietary Department's impact on residents' quality of life and maintain a comprehensive approach to resident care.

Responsibilities:


  • Innovate, plan, promote, and oversee a food service program
  • Lead, monitor and address shifts in resident preferences, values, and attitudes.
  • Manage the recruitment, hiring, training, discipline, and supervision of kitchen staff while handling departmental records and administrative duties.
  • Establish, document, and oversee general kitchen and dining room sanitation procedures.
  • Develop schedules for all kitchen staff, ensuring postings in their work areas.
  • Collaborate with the community leadership team to address any special functions or resident needs.
  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal regulations regarding health, safety (OSHA), and Dietary Department operations.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent minimum requirement.
  • Preferably possess Culinary and/or Dietary Manager Certification or the ability to obtain them, along with Serve Safe certification.
  • May require specific state and county certifications.
  • Minimum of two years' supervisory experience within a dietary environment.
  • Preferably experienced in senior living, hospitality, or healthcare dining.
  • Proficient in equipment operations and maintenance, nutrition and diet, and kitchen layout and design.
  • General knowledge in productivity, budgeting, energy conservation, purchasing, personnel management, and kitchen sanitation.
  • Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of elderly care, with the ability to consistently meet their needs in alignment with community philosophy and policies.

Pay:
$65,000.00 per year


Shift:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift

Weekly day range:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:


  • Culinary experience: 2 years (preferred)
  • Cooking: 2 years (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Pflugerville, TX preferred)
