Sawmill Operations Superintendent
Reports to:
Sawmill Operations Manager
Position Overview:
As a Sawmill Operations Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day activities of a sawmill facility.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of sawmill operators, technicians, and support staff.
- Ensure maintenance coordination between operations.
- Manage and monitor the scanning an optimization system in the sawmill.
- Work closely with the filing department to ensure machine center sharpness and saw changes occur efficiently.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the production of highquality lumber products.
- Collaborate with quality control personnel to address and rectify any deviations from established standards. Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for all sawmill employees.
- Report regularly on production metrics, safety performance, and other relevant KPIs.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff to address breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a sawmill or similar manufacturing environment.
- Indepth knowledge of sawmill operations, equipment, and lumber processing.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
