Job Description

Randstad is seeking a highly motivated Lab Technician to work in a fast paced laboratory environment, supporting regulatory studies. This position will provide to work with various lab equipment and to work within a dynamic team environment. For this position you will need to be able to lift up to 50lbs as needed.

salary: $20 - $23 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

Receiving and inventorying plant sample materials including seed and plant parts.
Organizing, placing or retrieving inventories (ambient, 4C, or -20C walk-in coolers, warehouse, or -80C upright units) Note: For warehouse inventory only, the use/operation of forklift equipment is preferred, but will be offered as an option.
Creating and shipping plant sampling kits
Aliquoting and packaging seed for distribution
Preparing seed for downstream molecular analysis
Responsible for data system entry in corporate database
Assist with sample preparation for downstream studies and customers through use of specialized milling equipment
Assist with general plant care, seed propagation, pollination, and tissue sampling in controlled environment settings

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Biology or related field of study is preferred.
Must be able to document all seed and sample handling activities in both electronic and manual systems.
Must be able to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, and be able to communicate with sample owners, other team members, and analysts.
Understanding of production plans, protocols, and relevant SOP's for the care, handling, or preparation of seed or samples.
Able to understand and execute assignments by priority
High-level of detail-orientation

The essential functions of this role include:

Laboratory/Sciences (3 years of experience is required)

Inventory (1 year of experience is required)
