About the role:


The Office of the CMO (OCMO) is focused on advancing and developing our marketing and sales teams and processes with 2 key learning programs: BD Way of Marketing including Global Product Development System (GPDS) excellence and BD Way of Selling.

Our customers are now purchasing in an evolving environment and to meet their needs, we are looking to also evolve our learning programs to reflect end-to-end commercial excellence.

This effort will ensure Marketing and Sales come together in a single process that emphasizes the needs to proactively define market requirements, deliver meaningful innovation that customers want, ensure a successful launch and manage a robust product/service life cycle that enables the growth of our winning portfolio.


Therefore, the corporate marketing team is seeking a talented associate with a broad upstream and downstream marketing background to join our team.

This leader will need to understand the fundamentals of the marketing 4Ps in the context of upstream marketing, downstream marketing and market development/shaping.

They will partner with the Sr Director of Commercial Excellence to drive this transformational effort within the different disciplines and processes of the marketing function across the BUs and regions.


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Work crossfunctionally and with the BUs to develop the BD Way of marketing and sales aligned with BD competency model, that meets customer needs and drives the development path of our marketing and sales teams.
  • Develop learning contents to update key modules and keep current with the latest commercial excellence and customer experience trends
  • Engage the broader commercial excellence trainer community and develop a deep knowledge of the user experience to deliver an innovative training that integrates the latest technology
  • Enhance and partner with regional champions and admin the Intrepid platform
  • Coordinate and organize training calendars globally and with the regional champions
  • Engage the trainers community and develop new trainers
  • Develop new functionalities to always ensure learning programs adopt latest trends and technology to deliver on BD Marketing 2025 Vision and learning experience

About you:


  • Experience leading teams, directly and indirectly, to achieve goals. Strong coaching and influence without authority skills

  • Strong strategic thinking skills with a keen focus on change management.
  • Courageous leadership in leading without authority to achieve organizational success

Education and experience required:


  • Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred, with at least 810 years of marketing experience
  • Demonstrated capability in marketing including, but not limited to, upstream, downstream, market development; marketing excellence capabilities, solutions development, marketing operations, branding building and communications
  • Experience in customer facing roles, preferably direct sales
  • Experience with training and ideally already BDWoM trainer
