Job Description Summary:
In this position, you will be inspecting assembled parts for imperfections and nonconformities.
You will review all parts that you are assigned against the blueprints and process sheets to verify that the parts meet customer standard.
You will be testing all electrical components and measuring them with an ohm meter, ruler and micrometer.Any non-conforming parts you will need to either send back to the assembly team for repair or out for scrap if it is non-repairable.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Education or GED.
- 3 years' inspection experience in a Manufacturing environment
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to use hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. optical comparators, ohm meters, leak check, CMM's, dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department.
- Possess specific knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines (Receiving Inspection, Electrical Inspection, Mechanical Inspection)
- Possess intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation, including functional knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T);
- Ability and willingness to pass visual acuity exam upon offer
- Ability and willingness to obtain Braze, Weld and Solder inspection certification as required
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure quality of products
- Use statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques as required.
- Identify and document nonconforming parts, while using Oracle to maintain inspection records
- Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to design requirement
- Use statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques as required
- Perform duties on more complex, prototype or firsttime builds. Perform final inspection responsibilities as required by area;
- Perform and document First Article inspections as required.
- Perform complex testing (i.e. surge test, dielectric, hipot, helium leak check, ATP, hardness testing etc.) as required.
- Complete understanding of operation of all inspection equipment within the department.
- Perform manual set up, test, and troubleshooting which includes performance testing and trim grind.
- Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and thirdparty requirements
- Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures; Assist support functions in root cause analysis
- Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products. Crosstrain other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
- Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
- Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.
- Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up
- Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of product deficiencies, new processes, or issues.
- Participate in and assist in leading team initiatives; Receive guidance from experienced employees
- Work with limited supervision; Other duties as required by department
Desired Qualifications:
- 35 years Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in Customer requirements; Audit experience
- Basic knowledge of Quality System requirements (AS9100)
- Prior knowledge of electrical test method to include ohm meter, gauss meter, surge test, hi pot, etc.
- General knowledge of electrical components and test methods
- Preferred assembly, solder, or electronics manufacturing experience. General knowledge of assembly techniques
- Experience in a selfdirected team environment; Lean manufacturing knowledge
Additional Information:
The pay for this position is $21/hr.
This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.
