Are you seeking a dynamic role where you can lead the design of complex structures? Look no further
As a Structural Engineer at Walker Consultants, you'll be tasked with designing some of the most significant structures worldwide, ranging from transit systems to expansive parking facilities at airports, resorts, and casinos.
Parking structures present a distinctive challenge, demanding expertise in structural engineering and materials science to address spanning, thermal, and durability considerations.
In this role, your primary focus will be on ensuring the structural integrity of these projects. You'll be responsible for developing robust framing systems that can withstand environmental elements while ensuring safety and functionality.Collaboration with clients and fellow experts will be key as you navigate the complexities of each project, ensuring that structural requirements are met with precision and excellence.
ResponsibilitiesPerform structural modeling, analysis, and design for gravity and lateral design of structures including prestressed and post-tensioned concrete, masonry, and steel members.
Produce construction documents for new design and restoration projects.Perform site visits to observe construction.
Assist with restoration projects for existing structures.
Qualifications And Competencies
Education Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited University, Master's degree preferred.
Other Requirements
3+ years experience in concrete design and construction.
A professional license in structural or civil engineering or the ability to obtain licensure within 3 years is required.
Solid knowledge of structural engineering.
Strong computer, writing, communication, and team skills are necessary.
Coursework
Prestressed Concrete Structures
Preferred Skills And Experience
Experience in the design and construction of pre-cast, post-tensioned, and reinforced concrete structures is desired.
