The Lab Technician reports directly to the Extraction Lab Manager and will be responsible for operating laboratory equipment under their direction to support the preparation and execution of the extraction process.

This individual will work safely to meet production goals, maintain a clean and organized workspace all while exceeding quality control standards.

This position must adhere to Company safety policies and procedures as well as state regulations including but not limited to recordkeeping, inventory, and waste disposal procedures.


Key Responsibilities:


Cannabis Extraction:
Execute various cannabis extraction methods such as hydrocarbon, solventless, and distillation techniques to produce high-quality cannabis concentrates.


Equipment Operation:
Operate and maintain extraction equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.


Quality Control:
Monitor and maintain product quality by conducting regular tests, making necessary adjustments, and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).


Cleaning and Sanitation:
Follow rigorous cleaning and sanitation protocols to maintain a pristine extraction environment and equipment. This includes cleaning work surfaces, equipment, and tools to prevent cross-contamination.


Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols, including handling hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and participating in safety training.


Record-Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all extraction activities, including batch data, equipment maintenance logs, and safety documentation.


Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve equipment issues, technical challenges, and process inefficiencies as they arise.


Product Development:
Support the development of new cannabis extracts and optimization of existing processes.


Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all local and state regulations governing cannabis extraction and processing.


Inventory Management:
Assist in managing raw materials and inventory levels required for extraction processes.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field is a plus).
  • Proven experience as a cannabis extraction technician or similar role in a regulated cannabis extraction facility.
  • Knowledge of various cannabis extraction methods, equipment, and postprocessing techniques.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, GMP, and strict cleaning and sanitation standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, everchanging environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with state and local cannabis regulations.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to stand for an 810 hour shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate machinery correctly, precisely, and efficiently

Environmental Factors:


  • Exposure to plant particulates through skin contact and inhalation including odor, that may cause allergic reaction to some
  • This position will also require you to be working in a C1D1 room with a hydrocarbon extraction machine
  • Exposure to compounds that may be flammable, corrosive, and hazardous
  • General background noise that may be loud
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures while working in freezers or coolers
