_This position is a contract position with the possibility of extension/career conversion._

This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Moores Cancer Center and remote.

DESCRIPTION:


Directly enhance the academic and research missions of the department of Radiation Medicine and Applied Sciences as well as Moores Cancer Center through research in the area of health services research which will help put the department in a position to compete for larger training grants, center grants, or project grants through the NCI.

Will directly support the mission of Moores Cancer Center, specifically the Cancer Control Program (CCP) and the NCI-funded P30 Cancer Center Support Grant through research interests in health services research including the field of financial toxicity surrounding cancer care.

Additionally, the incumbent will support the goals of the SDSU/UCSD Cancer Partnership (supported by an NCI U54 grant), which focuses on research, education, and community outreach to reduce the impact of health disparities in San Diego.

We expect the incumbent will collaborate with other faculty members within the department on research projects.

Will direct a research program that supports the overarching goal of the "Excellence Search for Diverse Faculty in Health Sciences" program which is to build a more diverse faculty and aims to foster a diverse and inclusive community of scholars to enhance our academic and research missions.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Advanced degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Seven years of related experience/training.
  • Academic background and recognized expertise in selected area of research.
  • Demonstrated expertise with program building within a leading academic institution for handling administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices.
  • Expert oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise building collaborations between academia, industrial and / or governmental agencies.
  • Leadership experience in academic and / or government agencies.
  • Expert ability to work with dynamic and diverse group of faculty, staff and students.
  • Expert fundraising experience.
  • Expert negotiation skills.

Annual Full Pay Range:
$112,100 - $216,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)


Hourly Equivalent:
$ $103.69

The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
