Job Summary

The Glover lab is seeking a Research Technician to work with Professor Glover to study the role of lysosome-related organelles in the delivery of microtubule organising molecules to centrioles to form functional centrosomes in Drosophila.

Essential Job Duties

Use CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis to generate null and deletion mutants of genes for vesicle trafficking and centrosomal proteins.
Perform advanced modifications and testing of in vitro protocols for vesicle trafficking and centrosomal maturation.

Basic Qualifications

The successful applicant should have a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Core molecular techniques in DNA manipulation, immunohistochemical staining, and confocal microscopy are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a laboratory using Drosophila as a model system to study aspects of cell or developmental biology.
Experience on working with lipidassociated proteins and in the use of Drosophila molecular genetics to analyze protein structure and function.
Experience with behavioural assays (such as climbing and motility) would be advantageous.
