    Description

    Our UI Manager, Engineering provides leadership to a group of four to eight team members. You are accountable for the deliverables assigned to your team and your Sr. Manager looks to you to drive the activities necessary to meet those deliverables. You are accountable to the individuals on your team. Impactful coaching and mentoring are important aspects of the role. As a seasoned team leader, you ensure that complex IT problems have been addressed by conferring with your customers and IT partners, working to negotiate problem resolution, timelines and deliverable commitments. You assist and guide your team as they come across challenges and conflicting priorities.

    Responsibilities:

    • To design elegant & engaging user interfaces on advanced application with HTML5, SVG, Canvas, Web Sockets, RESTful services
    • Work with User Experience design to iterate and implement Web UI for highly horizontally scalable, distributed services that run-in public, private and hybrid cloud infrastructures
    • Drive the architecture and design of modern user interfaces based on consumer design principles for next generation user interface platform
    • Experience with responsive web design grid frameworks
    • Build and lead a team of front-end developers
    • Evaluate talent of front-end developer candidates and coach others
    • Collaborate with business owners and facilitate requirements discussions and approvals
    • Member of design team while also leading, advising and directing technical partners/resources
    • Extraordinary written documentation and verbal/presentation skills
    • Keen eye for great creative design and user experience
    • Work with your Senior Manager, Engineering to plan, estimate and deliver projects on time
    • Identify and raise appropriate project risks, in addition to proposing solutions or alternatives
    • Understand how requirements and design choices may impact systems across multiple areas
    • Report on your team's progress for projects and other key metrics, as well as provide ideas for areas to further improve or influence project delivery
    • Evaluate performance of team members
    • Motivate all levels of performers to higher levels of achievement and respond appropriately when challenged with change, adapting approach as necessary
    • Build and maintain relationships with your team members to support an environment of trust
    • Influence those you motivate and coach to be receptive to feedback by cultivating a culture that acknowledges and expects individuals to grow and be accountable as a result of experience gained (growth mindset)
    • Identify where technical and analytical support and on-the-job mentoring is needed for team members
    • Engage in difficult conversations on development and performance

    Qualifications:

    • 4+ years of experience in full .NET software development, especially in the areas of: Visual Studio, TFS, C#, SQL Server, WCF, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, LINQ, SOAP, and REST, microservices, Event driver Architecture
    • 4+ years of experience with application design, implementation, maintenance, diagnosing/correcting issues, managing security vulnerabilities, and maintaining compliance with industry security standards under minimal direction.
    • 4+ years of development in a large-scale, multi-platform environment is required
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 2-3 years in Management
    • 8+ years of experience in Engineering
    • Demonstrated experience of success in multiple disciplines
    • Experience managing medium to large scale projects
    • Reputation as someone who engages with team members effectively
    • Identified as someone who genuinely cares about others and mentors them resulting in transfer of skills and knowledge
    • Strong understanding of multiple business domains as well as the application ecosystems they depend upon
    • Understanding and applying metrics to your work and decision making, able to use those metrics to identify correlation between drivers and results, and using that information to drive the right behaviors
    • Initiative and creativity in solving problems
    • Delivery of information in a clear and concise manner appropriate to the audience
    • Embracing ownership of both successes and failures, as well as documenting and sharing lessons learned from each
    • Ability to balance multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
    • Confidence with decision making

    Annual Salary

    $100, $236,500.00

    The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
