ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsibilities may include sales forecasting and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as all operating procedures related to Food & Beverage Services. Including, but not limited to, health, alcohol, and fire regulations.
  • Is required to personally have the Liquor License for the Food & Beverage service at the Golf Course in the Food & Beverage Managers name.
  • Required to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Primary duty is management and leadership, however, will be required to fill in as a Server, Host, Wait Assistant, Bartender, etc. to relieve/backup staff during peak periods or when short staffed.
  • Responsible for training staff in making sure they are compliant with health code standards and adhering to all safety, sanitation, food preparation, food storage and alcohol beverage control policies including confirming legal drinking age and discontinuing service to intoxicated guests.
  • Ensures that food and beverage facilities and equipment are maintained and in proper repair.
  • Must be able to interact successfully with the golfing public, the Town's PGA Golf Professional and his employees, as well as with other vendors and private contractors doing business with the facility.
  • Creates customized menus, including custom menus for guests with allergies.
  • Oversees all Food & Beverage Operations, cost controls, and inventory management.
  • Delivers all revenue receipts as required to the Town Financial Offices on a timely basis.
  • Focuses on maintaining profit margins without compromising golfer or guest satisfaction.
  • Recommends hiring of all Food and Beverage Staff to the Director of Golf Operations.
  • Coordinates special events and functions as they relate to Food and Beverage service.
  • Markets and manages event planning for the facility, including meeting with clients to discuss their events, providing ideas for decoration/themes, event logistics, scheduling staff for setup, clean up and service while the event is happening and ensuring that each event is profitable. Responsible for preparing and cooking all food for events as well as arranging flowers and other decorations.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily operations, appearance, and maintenance of the food service areas in the Clubhouse, 10th Tee Snack Shed, and the mobile Food & Beverage Golf Carts.
  • Responsible for training of all Food & Beverage clubhouse and on
- course refreshment cart staff on departmental standards and procedures.

  • Creates, maintains, and distributes weekly schedules for staff and communicates changes as appropriate.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistency in quality of food, service, and timing.
  • Responsible for accuracy of Point of Sales System operations and all necessary reports as it relates to Food and Beverage.
  • Responsible for all Food & Beverage monetary transactions including cash and credit cards.
  • Assures that all revenue collected is deposited on a daily basis at the financial institution designated by the town.
  • Conducts weekly and annual inventory reconciliation of all alcoholic beverages and develops programs and policies to minimize the loss of inventory that can be attributed to factors such as employee theft, shoplifting, administrative error, vendor fraud, damage, and cashier error by matching stock records with inventory at that time. Reports inventory discrepancies to the Director of Golf Operations.
  • Addresses golfer/general public complaints and suggestions related to Food & Beverage.
  • Maintain consistency of service by being aware of and prepared for all course events, large parties and reservations that may affect food and beverage service operations.
  • Other related duties as necessary to the operations of the Food and Beverage business.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:


Knowledge:
A working knowledge of Food and Beverages management principles, practices, and methods. A thorough understanding of the rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to Food and Beverage sales and serving.


Skills:

Requires excellent oral and written communication skills as well as intermediate computer skills required in the performance of job responsibilities duties.

Must possess excellent supervisory skills.


Ability:
Ability to cook, prepare, and serve food of various types for groups up to 75 people. Ability to supervise subordinates effectively. Ability to deal with the public effectively. Ability to maintain good public relations. Ability to perform moderate physica
