    Description

    Certified Medical Assistant – Harrison Primary Care

    The Certified Medical Assistant is a crucial part of our team, working closely with the primary care physician to provide top-notch patient care to our community, ensuring services are offered within the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines.

    Essential Functions:
    • Delivers top-notch customer service by welcoming patients and the community courteously
    • Prepares & checks patient charts for upcoming visits by ensuring all diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other medical records are accurate and current
    • Takes vital signs like pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height
    • Handles departmental clerical tasks such as monitoring inventory, stocking supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones as required
    • Should be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly
    • Other assigned duties
    Education:

    High School Degree or GED

    Licensure/Certification:
    • Active Medical Assisting Certification (required)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required within 90 days of hire)
    Experience:
    • One year of healthcare experience as a medical assistant (preferred, not mandatory)
    • Two years of clerical experience in a physician's office (preferred, not mandatory)
    Skills & Abilities:
    • Possesses problem-solving skills, basic computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Engages with staff and patients professionally
