Under the general direction of the Senior Oil and Gas Engineer (Supervisor), the Research Data Analyst II will work independently and collaboratively for the Environmental and Facilities unit's Pipeline and Facilities program.

The incumbent will perform electronic data entry and editing, generate and update map products, support field data collection, and support spatial data and mapping requests as they pertain to pipelines, tank settings, and other production facilities.

The incumbent will be responsible for data entry, editing and processing spatial data, including administrative and facility boundaries, pipelines, and storage tanks.

Spatial dataset will be maintained and updated regularly to support facility mapping and monitoring work.

The incumbent will work with CalGEM staff to process recorded facility locations and conditions, analyze hazardous facilities spatially for inspection, and provide insights on prioritizing inspection, enforcement, and abandonment efforts.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.

Working Conditions

This position is located in Long Beach and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule.

At least three days of remote work and up to two days of in-office work per week is the available hybrid telework schedule for this position.
