Forklift Operator/night Shift - Pennsauken, United States - Inserts East

Description

The Shipper plays an essential role in the production process by transporting raw and finished goods throughout the plant and preparing the finished product for shipping or storage.

This experienced level position is responsible for loading and unloading materials from trucks, using a powered industrial truck to move raw material, product, and preparing post-skid operations for shipment.

• To understand and follow all standard operating and safety procedures.
• Perform all postskidding operations, which may include: strapping, banding & wrapping, boxing, and weighing.
• Safely operates a powered industrial truck to transport product to various departments.
• Prepares all paperwork and skids for shipping.
• Loads and unloads materials from delivery vehicles using forklift.
• Conducts daily inspections of equipment for preventative maintenance.
• Follows all company and OSHA safety regulations and promote safe work habits with peers.
• Adhering to all company policies, including safety practices.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Able to demonstrate English reading, writing and arithmetic at the high school level.
• Able to work with mínimal supervision.
• Typically has at least 1 year shipping experience.
• Must possess forklift certification or have ability to complete and maintain certification through onthejob training, and by continuous safe operation of vehicle.
• Have manual dexterity and good handeye coordination.
• Able to work various shifts and perform oncall duties.
• Overtime may be required, and is a condition of employment
