Description
This position requires a person to design and sell residential/commercial landscapes, hardscapes, irrigation, and drainage.

This person should have a distinct ability and passion to understand customers' needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs while keeping a focus on the customer.

This person spends a significant amount of time talking and meeting with customers to develop relationships, sell projects, and verify customer satisfaction.

They will also be responsible for contract administration including landscape design, estimates, proposals, contracts, invoicing, change orders, and project follow-up.


You will need to be a dynamic and motivated self-starter who is capable of working independently and with a team.


Essential Responsibilities

Lead Development:

  • Develop relationships with current and potential customers with a specific territory and channel to progres sales leads.
  • Displays a passion for landscaping and a sense of enthusiasm that can be conveyed to potential customers.
  • Utilize any and all marketing tools such as catalogs, brochure, and vendor collateral to broaden reach in territory and promote company services.
  • Research and analyze customer needs and demands based on market information
  • Joins and participates in extracurricular activities and professional networking groups in order to promote GreenTech.
  • Attends trade and home shows to promote GreenTech.
  • Generates new sales leads from networking opportunities.
  • Meets and conducts initial interviews with prospective customers.

Design/Sales:

  • Performs detailed site analysis for prospective jobs.
  • Create/coordinate CAD landscape design renderings for commercial and residential customers to serve as visualization for the scope of work.
  • Independently and collaboratively create landscape/hardscape designs that meet customer goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of all processes required to complete a landscape project.
  • Knowledge of current and potential costs of materials and equipment rental rates.
  • Quote prices, produce estimates/proposals and prepare sales contracts for customer orders based upon accurate cost/hours/square footages that are complete and easy to understand.
  • Estimate the date of delivery to the customer. Based on knowledge of the company's delivery schedules.
  • Ensure all job notes are accurately prepared for a smooth transition to the Project Crews.
  • Follow up with customer postsale to do a walkthrough of the jon to ensure the customer is satisfied.
  • Participate in weekly Sales and Accounts Receivable meetings.

Project Oversight:

  • Maintains excellent communication with the customer throughout the project.
  • Coordinates the launch of new projects with Project Manager and Crew Foreman.
  • Coordinates with Project Management and Crew Foreman regarding scheduling, plant/material ordering, installation performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicates with the Project Manager and Foreman to review jobs as needed, including job site visits, to ensure the customer's expectations are met.
  • Attend onsite meetings and convey updated information to the responsible crew regarding addons, change orders, etc.
  • Visit job sites and meet with customers during the project to ensure customer satisfaction.

Administrative:

  • Utilizes company CRM software to log all activity with prospects and customers following company protocol.
  • Keeps company calendar, leads, estimates, and proposals updated within company CRM software.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Green industree degree (horticulture, landscape architecture, landscape design) is preferred but not required if equivalent experience exists.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related Green industry experience; natural stone, hardscaping, landscaping, or tree services with proven ability to meet sales goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge and experience with plants, hardscape materials, drainage, irrigation, lighting, and architectural features for our region of Florida.
  • Experience using computeraided design software such as VizTerra, VIP 3D, YARD, DynaSCAPE, AutoCAD and SketchUP; either all or some for landscaping is required.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in basic computer programs such as Work, Excel, etc.
