Job Summary:

Reporting to a licensed pharmacist, you will be responsible for inputting physicians' orders onto patient medication profiles, preparing medications and intravenous admixtures, including chemotherapeutic agents, assisting with medication dispensing, maintaining pharmacy supplies, and carrying out other necessary tasks.




Key Responsibilities:


  • Ability to perform all tasks within the scope of responsibilities as an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician.
  • Interpret physician orders and medical abbreviations.
  • Create patient medication profiles based on physician orders.
  • Work efficiently under the supervision of pharmacists in a fast-paced pharmacy setting.
  • Demonstrate care and empathy towards patients and customers.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, coworkers, and nursing staff.
  • Act as a team player across different departments.
  • Carry out assigned duties diligently.
  • No supervisory responsibilities for this role.

Education

  • High School Diploma/GED.
License, Certification, Registration

  • Pharmacy Technician License (California)

Additional Requirements:


  • Proficiency in aseptic technique for preparing sterile IV products.
  • Experience with unit dose distribution systems and I.V admixture programs, including chemotherapy and TPN compounding.
  • Knowledge of drug dosage forms, strengths, and generic/trade names.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems.
  • Good communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Ability to present information clearly to various audiences.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
