THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic Transportation Manager with a diverse set of experiences, to make our mission a reality.

To put it simply, under the direction of the Director of Transportation, you will supervise and coordinate all aspects of Yes Prep student transportation bus operations.

Overseeing the establishment and revision of bus routes; ensuring safe and timely transportation is being provided; ensuring compliance with time schedules and related rules, laws, and regulations of student transportation, ensuring the budget is accurate and up to date


THE ROLE**- When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
  • Managing and overseeing the Transportation Coordinators and vendors;
  • Verifying and approving bus routes;
  • Understanding basic vehicle maintenance needs in order to communicate those needs to appropriate stakeholders;
  • Conducting onsite inspections of all vehicle maintenance operations to ensure vehicle compliance;
  • Managing the transportation budget;
  • Implementing YES Prep's transportation policy and procedures;
  • Monitoring data via GPS, video footage, and route information to ensure efficient operations;
  • Investigating, analyzing, and resolving complex issues as they relate to bus operations with administrators, DCO's, parents, students, and the community;
  • Managing and monitoring the performance of bus routes for a specific service area through verification and analysis of both computerized programs and customer feedback;
  • Working in partnership with vendors to provide feedback on how to resolve student management issues and coordinate with campus staff to resolve and address student behavior concerns;
  • Assessing and diffusing regularly complex, and escalated customer issues;
  • Taking personal responsibility and accountability for solving systemic customer service problems. Regularly exploring alternative and creative solutions to meet the needs of the customer within Yes Prep's policies and guidelines;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • At least 5 years' experience with pupil transportation
  • Strong ability to navigate Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends

  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Ability to work urgently in a fastpaced and resultsoriented environment
