- Haul Truck Operation: Operate haul trucks to transport materials and equipment to and from highway construction sites, following specified procedures and ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, conducting pre-trip inspections, and implementing traffic control measures as necessary to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with site supervisors, flaggers, and construction staff to coordinate material deliveries and ensure efficient project execution, fostering a culture of teamwork and effective communication.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on haul trucks to ensure they are in safe working condition, reporting any mechanical issues promptly for repair.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of materials transported, distances traveled, and any incidents or observations related to highway construction activities.
- Other Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic highway construction environment.
- Possession of a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with appropriate endorsements for operating haul trucks is essential for this role.
- Previous experience operating haul trucks or similar heavy equipment, preferably in highway construction or related field, is preferred.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism.
- Capable of performing physical tasks associated with operating heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
