Position Summary

The primary function of the Driver is to provide transportation for adults experiencing crisis to and from the crisis stabilization unit, 23-hour crisis observation program, and community centers or hospitals.

Provide support as needed to pick up medications and program supplies, or transport clients to legal and medical appointments. The position reports directly to the Program Supervisor.

Essential Functions

Provide transportation.
Effectively schedule and plot timely routes for transportation of clients.
Maintain all required documentation for use of personal vehicles for transportation such as routes and mileage logs.
Attend all departmental and program meetings to ensure that uptodate information is received and/or information on policy changes or practices are adhered to.
Always ensure the proper supervision of clients.
Partner with the program to facilitate medication pickup.
Develop positive rapport with clients while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment.
Be available to work on evenings, and weekends and maintain flexibility with the work schedule to meet the client's needs.
Assist and support other programs as needed and as available with transportation needs.

Other Functions

Able to react to change.

Be able to provide supervision of clients in group setting as needed

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience driving in a business setting, preferably for a correctional or institutional setting.

Must possess a valid state driver's license.

Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
