    Buyer **Description**

    Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Buyer for the procurement and planning of material to meet production requirements for on-time delivery. This includes the accurate assignment, tracking and documentation for the manufacturing process. This position will be responsible for the purchasing services, supplies, and parts for the facility's production equipment needs as well as all consumables purchasing for the facility's requirements.

    **Qualifications**

    **Duties and Responsibilities:**

    Coordinate with Maintenance to source appropriate vendors, suppliers, and service providers

    Obtain competitive bids, review and analyze price quotations

    Support the execution of contracts with vendors and suppliers using Howmet approved protocols and policies

    Develop and evaluate existing vendors as qualified and preferred suppliers

    Expedite the delivery of critical equipment and materials, meeting all required deadlines

    Efficiently maintain Purchase Orders and all related records, following established Accounting and Howmet protocols

    Work with the internal stakeholder to prioritize annual purchasing budgets

    Develop and maintain ongoing purchasing cost saving initiatives

    Resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies

    Maintain current due dates and promise dates of all open purchase orders

    Maintain required stock levels at Howmet and suppliers (WIP and finished goods)

    All other duties as directed by management

    **Basic Qualifications:**

    Associate's Degree from an accredited institution

    1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment

    Strong organizational skills to proactively seek statuses

    Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

    This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

    **Preferred Qualifications:**

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

    3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

    Experience in supplier relationship management and inventory/materials management

    Prior experience with expediting

    Prior experience in purchasing

    Ability to read machine blueprints
