Required:

Under the direction of Project Manager, performs the following tasks while complying with established procedures for: filing, retrieving, and copying case file materials; creating witness binders; preparing deposition and trial exhibits; entering data on-line to case files and other databases; proofreading, editing, organizing and summarizing documents, files, and other materials, as well as correcting OCR'd text files; retrieving and blowing back documents from microfilm and digital image media; tabbing, numbering, labeling, assembling documents; filling out log sheets and reporting on task progress; and performing quality control on the work of peers in all of these areas.

Review documents, depositions, files and other materials to locate information or documents that are responsive to requests for productions, interrogatories and other discovery related requets.

Performs simple database searches.

Skills:
Relativity experience a plus.

Responsibilities:

Working with attorneys and staff at the Civil Division within the Department of Justice (DOJ) in daily paralegal efforts supporting the Consumer Protection Branch (CPB).

The CPB 'leads the Justice Department's efforts to enforce consumer protection statutes throughout the United States.

The Consumer Protection Branch cases are rooted in our nation's fundamental consumer protection laws, establishing crucial precedents and protecting American consumers from threats to their health, safety, and wallet.

Review pleadings and legal documents to ensure technical accuracy.

Use electronic databases and other electronic means to perform litigation support tasks, including organizing, indexing, and summarizing documents, files, and other materials.

Provide technical assistance to attorneys using automated case management systems and maintain record keeping systems for tracking progress of investigations and cases.

Review documents, depositions, files and other materials to locate information or documents which are responsive to requests for production, interrogatories, requests for admissions and other discovery requests.
