Description

A Behavioral Analysis Technician, under general supervision and working in a variety of Community Mental Health, local community, and family home settings, provides one on one services related to the delivery of comprehensive or focused behavioral intervention to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, neurological disorders, or other developmental disabilities.

An employee in this class performs a variety of paraprofessional level work activities requiring a general working knowledge of the mental health field and behavior analysis.

A Behavioral Analysis Technician will work under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) providing a number of services related to behavioral assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of written behavior plans.

This employee also performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Minimum Entrance Qualifications:


  • Be a high school graduate or have a certificate of completion of the General Education Development (GED) test.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.
  • Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.
Preferred but not Required

  • One (1) year experience working with young children or children/adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
  • Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.

Physical Conditions / Work Location:


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

A Behavioral Analysis Technician must be in good physical condition such as to allow for the lifting of objects weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or more and for standing or walking extended periods of time.

A Behavioral Analysis Technician must be able to lift and transfer consumers from wheelchair to other surfaces as needed. This employee must also be able to perform physical intervention techniques as trained and approved by the agency.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
An employee in this class generally works at various locations in the community and in family homes. Must be able to drive and travel to locations within and outside of the county.
