We are looking for a full time or long term seasonal worker who can work mid April through late October.

Responsibilities:


  • Designing and planning garden layouts, considering factors such as plant selection, color schemes, and seasonal interests.
  • Planting, transplanting, and caring for a wide variety of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees.
  • Pruning, deadheading, and performing regular maintenance tasks to keep gardens looking their best in peak season as well as preparing for yearround care of plants.
  • Monitoring for pests, diseases, and other issues, and performing treatment when needed.
  • Operate equipment such as vehicles, tractors, and sprayers.

Requirements:


  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience working as a gardener or related field.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of plants, care, and maintenance, with a focus on plants suitable for the West Michigan climate.
  • Experience with landscape design principles and techniques, including hardscaping elements such as pathways and garden structures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, while also working effectively with others.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and kneeling for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred/Not Required:


  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH) or Master Gardener's certification a plus.
  • Experience with large scope customers/businesses [large corporations; country clubs etc.]
