Job Description

The Director, Corporate Outreach is responsible for strategic planning, business development and operations management for highly complex Divisions and programs at the main campus and partner organizations including the Division of Hospital Based Medicine, main campus, Division of Hospital Based Medicine Outreach and Division of Neonatology Outreach.

This individual will work with other hospital and medical group leaders to strategically align and integrate our goals and activities in clinical care, research, teaching, and advocacy to achieve maximum, measurable impact.

As the lead administrator for their respective divisions, this individual is responsible for administrative, operations management, financial management, strategic planning and compliance of multi mission activities for the divisions including contract agreement negotiations.


Essential Job Functions:
Finance

  • Responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of outreach programs at the main campus and partner organizations, e.g., financials/volumes, quality activities and education in collaboration with Department Leadership, Division Leadership, Finance, and administrative and clinical leadership at partner hospitals
  • Monitors the billing activity for outreach sites and main campus, monitoring of monthly variance reports, collaborating with the revenue cycle teams to ensure maximum reimbursement. Responsible for achieving budgeted revenues/expenses.
  • Maintains strong relationships with existing and new outreach partners including attendance at Joint Practice meetings. Serves as a Lurie Children's liaison to identify and resolve issues between Lurie Children's and partners, as well as internal Lurie Children's issues.
  • In collaboration with Division Leadership, partners with the outreach partner and the Department Business Operation and Analytics team and the institution's professional Billing and Coding and Compliance teams to identify opportunities to maximize professional billing revenue. Works with Division Leadership to ensure associated cages in practices are adopted in a timely manner.
  • Prepares and administers capital and operations budgets for areas of responsibility.
Operations

  • Provides administrative direction to the Division Heads (Outreach
  • HBM and Neonatology and Main Campus) including recruitment and ongoing oversight of physician staff, preparation and administration of budget, and ongoing relationships with partner hospitals and main campus leaders.
  • Works cooperatively, and in tandem with the site leaders for the support of the programs.
  • Key leader responsible for operations management, budget and administrative oversight in collaboration with partner organization executives.
  • Provides oversight for physician recruitment and retention activities for the Divisions of Hospital-Based Medicine (HBM) and Division of Neonoatology Outreach.
  • In collaboration with the Division Head(s), manages faculty effort allocation (time allocation to each mission, activity planning for each of those missions and productivity expectations for all providers including time spent on clinical vs. administrative duties.
  • Partners with Division Leadership to manage the education training programs within the Division, including the fellowship program. This include the management of medical education coordinator, prepares reports and ensures sustainable financial support of trainees within the Division
  • Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to outreach and the Divisions of HBM and Neonatology programs.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting performance on the Divisions of HBM & Neonatology/programs, implementation plans, and growth plan goals.
  • Measure and communicate program effectiveness on a regular basis.
  • Monitor progress against program milestone to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Communicate and manage any variances from program plans.
  • Selects, evaluates the performance of and serves as a mentor to staff in areas of responsibility.
Strategy

  • Assesses needs and, when appropriate, develops arrangements for provision of additional subspecialty services including telemedicine and in person programs/services at partner organizations and at the main campus. Determines space, IT and workflow needs, ensures customer service, manages ongoing relationships with partner organizations, and evaluates the success of these programs.
