Behavior Technician

Job Description:
The Special Needs Network, Inc. is seeking qualified professionals to join our inclusive summer camp program, CAMP JPAC. Our camp population consists of both special needs and typical children, with a ratio of 60:40.

As a Behavior Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing behavioral support to children with special needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in camp activities.

Your expertise and guidance will contribute to creating a positive and inclusive environment that promotes the growth and development of each camper.


Camp Details:


Duration and dates:
July 15th - August 9th

Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday

Responsibilities:


  • Provide direct support and supervision to campers with special needs, ensuring their safety and engagement in camp activities.
  • Collaborate with camp staff, including teachers, counselors, and therapists, to provide support across all camp activities.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, or a related field is preferred).
  • Previous experience working with children with special needs, either in a camp, educational setting, or in the home.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with camp staff, parents, and caregivers.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain certification prior to the start of the camp).

Pay:
$ $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
