- 6am-2:30p, 7a-3:30p, 8a-4:30p, 9a-5:30p & 10am-6pm
- All shifts are every other weekend and every other holiday
- Per Diem Days
- Transports patients in a safe and efficient manner throughout the hospital under the direction of supervisory personnel.
- Utilizes the automated transport system to perform duties.
- Performs routine cleaning of equipment used to transport patients.
- Adheres to universal infection control practices.
- Practices excellent customer service skills with all patients, visitors and employees.
- Transports deceased to morgue.
- Advises nurse, nurse designee or technician when arrives on floor.
- Introduces self to patient.
- Transporter always checks the patient's ID band for the two identifiers before transporting patient (Name and Date of Birth).
- Assists the nurse or technician in transferring the patient from the bed to the transport equipment or vice versa.
- Uses caution when rounding corners.
- Ensures brakes are used when transferring from stretcher and/or wheelchair.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
- Maintains safety of patients.
- Identifies appropriate situations to seek assistance from nursing staff and/or security.
- Recognizes and reports patient discomfort, distress or emergency situations to the nurse or technician.
- Always follow infection control and hand washing precaution before, during and after a transport
