    The Payload and Ground Systems unit in Northrop Grumman Space Systems is all about pushing boundaries, redefining engineering capabilities, and advancing various sciences.     Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is in need of a Senior Principal Systems Engineer for the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering team supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU).

    Position Overview:

    • This role calls for broad knowledge in engineering across various areas such as systems design, hardware, software, and integration and testing.
    • The ideal candidate is dependable, resourceful, works accurately and independently, and can foresee, initiate, and follow through on all duties.
    • Proficiently engage with management, employees, customers, and vendors at all levels.
    • Comprehension of systems engineering requirements.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Senior Principal Systems Engineer: 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD; or 13 years of related experience without a degree.
    • Active TS with SCI eligibility, and willing to undergo a polygraph.
    • Solid familiarity with Cameo modeling and popular modeling tools.
    • Experience in managing and drafting systems engineering requirements for a space program.
    • Proficiency in crafting and revising ICDs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Highly desirable experience in software and hardware integration and testing.
    • RF/SATCOM expertise.
    • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc).

    Salary Range: $133,000 - $199,600

    The stated salary range serves as a general reference; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors in determining base salary offers based on the role's scope, responsibilities, candidate's background, skills, and market conditions.

    Employees may be entitled to a discretionary bonus on top of their base pay. Annual bonuses aim to recognize individual contributions and allow employees to share in the company's success. Those in VP or Director roles may qualify for Long-Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman also offers an array of benefits including health insurance, life and disability coverage, savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
