Programming Analytics and Solutions:
Data Solutions Manager


In this pivotal role, you will be an integral member of the Programming Analytics and Solutions (PAS) - Data Solutions Team.

Your responsibilities will include working with internal and external stakeholders, working closely with more senior members of the Data Solutions team and actively engaging in hands-on programming activities.

Our deliverables are tailored to support clinical drug development and include the development, testing, and deployment of data pipelines for both GxP and Non-GxP Use Cases, the creation of data visualization tooling and the development of machine learning models.

What you will do

  • Develop, test and deploy a variety of clinical data pipelines to automate business processes within Global Statistical Programming (GSP) and the wider Global Development Operations (GDO) department.
  • Use a variety of automation techniques, including innovative opensource tooling, Robot Process Automation (RPA), Generative AI and/or Machine Learning (ML) to effectively automate our business processes.
  • Adhere to robust software engineering principles and employ a wellstructured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, across all data pipelines, encompassing both GxP and Non-GxP environments.
  • Thoroughly research and select suitable data sources for integration into our diverse array of data pipelines.
  • Develop data visualization tooling using advanced tools like RShiny, Dash Plotly, and Spotfire.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to streamline and automate pivotal data pipelines.
  • Stay at the forefront of advancements in data science, software engineering, and drug development, actively contributing to these evolving fields.
  • Champion awareness and understanding of software engineering and/or data science across GDO and the broader Amgen organization.
  • Effectively communicate significant and intricate scientific information to a diverse range of stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience
OR
Master's degree and 4 years of experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Masters degree or equivalent in life science, data analytics, data science computer science, Math, Statistics, or related discipline
  • Extensive work experience in life sciences, data sciences, or a medical related field.

Key Skills:


  • An indepth understanding of clinical trial processes within the life sciences industry, spanning from data collection to analytical reporting.
  • Accomplished track record in developing, testing, and deploying data pipelines.
  • Proven expertise in crafting innovative automation solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming with SAS, Python, and/or R, backed by substantial handson experience.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within globally dispersed teams.
  • Practiced in the development of abstract and reusable code in Python, R and/or SAS.
  • Thorough understanding of version control, with a particular focus on GitLab/GitHub utilization.
  • Diligent technical proficiency with robust logical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills.
  • Adept at fostering collaboration and influencing stakeholders and DTI resources to drive endtoend analytic projects.
