Estimated Hours:
Monday - Friday (8a - 4:30p)

***Medial Assistants (MA) will perform patient-facing and back-office duties to deliver quality patient care by providing clinical support under the direction of a physician. MA's work closely with front office staff to ensure an efficient clinic flow and coordination of care. MA's will provide outstanding customer service to patients, physicians and all other hospital professionals.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Patient Care

• Rooms patients efficiently while adhering to physician's designated clinic schedule
• Performs vital signs, height, weight & blood-oxygen saturation and documents in electronic medical record
• Reviews medication, family, social, medical & surgical history with patient and updates electronic medical record appropriately
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Collaborate with monitor/device representatives to perform ICD/Pacemaker device checks during clinic
• Review, communicate, and educate on laboratory results, imaging studies, medication refills, and medication changes with patients per protocol and at physician's request

Back Office Duties

• Prepare patient clinical charts
• Obtain & abstract outside medical records
• Clean & maintain medical equipment
• Medical supply management & restock

Other Duties:
Performs other duties as assigned

Required Education & Licensure

• High School Diploma / GED
• Completion of medical assistant training program

Minimum Preferred Experience: 2 years of relevant experience

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Vital sign equipment skills
• Noninvasive blood pressure
• Temperature
• Pulse oximeter
• Basic computer skills
