    What You Will Be Doing to Make a Difference:


    • The Peer Recovery Coach I / Peer Support Specialist engages, motivates, and facilitates meaningful conversations with our members to help them explore, create, and achieve their own recovery objectives.
    • They offer guidance to the team to advocate and reinforce Telecare's Recovery Culture, as outlined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS), where each member's perspective and preferences are acknowledged, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help activities.
    • In addition, they handle critical situations with advanced engagement and de-escalation skills to ensure a minimally restrictive environment for members facing mental health/addiction crises.

    Available Shifts: On Call; Shift Hours and Days vary as necessary


    The initial wage range is $20.86 for Peer Recovery Coach OR $18.13 for Peer Support Specialist. Telecare incorporates geographical differentials into its pay scales. The salary for this role will be determined based on the geographical location where the role is executed. The starting pay will reflect relevant experience above the minimum requirements.



    Your Qualifications (Must Have)


    • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory
    • Certified Peer Specialist and/or completion of Peer Support Training
    • At least one year of experience (or part-time equivalent) in assisting members with behavioral health issues
    • Background as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system
    • Successful finish of Peer Support or Peer Employment Training
    • Valid driver's license, personal vehicle insurance, and willingness to use the company vehicle for client transportation

    Located in Santa Maria, California, Telecare's Carmen Lane is a 12-bed Crisis Residential Treatment Center with a forensic focus. This program serves adult residents of Santa Barbara County with justice-involved backgrounds who require crisis support to prevent hospitalization, incarceration, or both. Residents transitioning from a hospital, forensic facility, or long-term locked facility to community living will benefit from a recovery-focused environment that fosters improved symptom management, community living skills, interpersonal skills, and lasting connections to support systems.
