    The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club is currently seeking a Recreation Attendant to join our team at our beautiful oceanfront property

    Schedule: Full time, seasonal position.

    Must be available 3-4 days a week and holidays and weekends

    SUMMARY

    Assists the Recreation Supervisor with coordination and implementation of the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club and La Jolla Shores Hotel's activity programs available to families of members and guests. Promotes and follows LJBTC, Inc.'s Signature Service standards and requirements ensuring a lasting impression of exemplary service resulting in supremely satisfied and loyal members and guests.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

    • Lead fun, entertaining, and relevant programming.
    • Encourage, promote, register, and schedule members and guests to participate in recreation activities.
    • Arranges medical attention for an ill or injured child in accordance with parental and/or company instructions.
    • Provides quality service to guests that meets or exceeds expectations.
    • Organize, inventory and maintain supplies for planned activities and approved events.
    • Ensure pool areas are exceeding guest expectations. (ie. cleanliness, pool towels stocked, safety, etc)
    • Cultivate a fun and relaxing atmosphere for members and guests.
    • Promote the rules and regulations of the recreation facilities intended for the safety and welfare of members and guests.
    • Be aware and respond to possible situations where guests are not able to safely participate in an activity.
    • Observe activity in the recreational areas and respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedure in the event of an emergency.
    • Maintain recreational facilities, equipment, and supplies.
    • Ensure quality, standards, and expectations of the members and guests are being met or exceeded on a daily basis.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
    • Work together as a team with the recreation staff to complete the assigned daily activities.
    • Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction.
    • Ensure we are upholding the Signature Service Standards of La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club Inc.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    OUTCOME

    The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club Inc. operates in a very family-oriented environment. Primarily during the summer months, and holiday periods. A solid summer activities program for all ages is essential to enhance and add value to the guest experience at both the Club and the Shores Hotel. The Recreation Attendants will work together to provide new opportunities that engage all ages with creative and lively programs through themes such as: wellness, culinary, social, kid focused, adult focused, and more. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in English before guests, children, parents, managers, or employees of the organization.


    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.


    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    All employees in this position must obtain and maintain current CPR & First Aid Training Card.

    The employee constantly lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.


    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.


    INTERACTION

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will interact frequently with the adult members and apartment guests, as well as the children of members and apartment guests. This employee will also interact frequently with the membership services, front desk staff, catering staff and beach crew members, as well as occasional interaction with the housekeeping and engineering staffs. The employee must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with both internal and external customers mentioned.


    SCHEDULING

    This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shifts will generally be rotated unless you were hired for a specific shift, as much as possible to be fair to everyone. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the amount of hours that you work.
