- Position Summary
- Reporting to a Lead Person or Supervisor, the Lab Technician must insure that products leaving the plant are in conformance with specifications and notify the team leaders when products are out of specification. Also insures conformance with specifications for processed clay.

Responsibilities:
- After completing analysis, communicates with process and packaging team leaders to ensure that necessary adjustments are made to keep products within specified operating parameters including placing out of specification products on hold.
- Maintains laboratory equipment assuring that it is functional and appropriately calibrated.
- Reads and monitors electronic equipment and interprets the data.
- Checks weights on bags, jugs, and boxes.
- Monitors bar code scanning.
- Mixes slurry to specifications for various products.
- Maintains the integrity and quality of products produced utilizing established procedures.
- Loads bulk trucks and hopper cars as necessary.
- Observes and follows all safety rules, regulations and precautions.
- Keeps areas clean and free of clutter.

- Qualifications
- Must be able to pass the Essential Job Function Exam set up during the employment offer period.
- Pass the pre-employment tests at required results (WPT, Quantitative, verbal, BMCT)
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and act on product specifications, SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), PWI (Process Work Instructions), AIQ processes, and similar documents.
- Must be able to read and comprehend product specifications.
- Must have basic computer spreadsheet skills.
- Must have ability to understand statistics and statistical processing controls (SPC).
- Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently.
- Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently.
- Must be able to visually compare values of color in clay.
- Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE including, but not limited to: Safety glasses, hearing protection, dust mask, protective coveralls, and pother as may be required by a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment.
