    Branch Receptionist

    Primary Function:

    Under the supervision of the Supervisor and the Department Manager, performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties while greeting and assisting members as needed. Handles all member interactions with complete discretion and confidentiality while presenting a professional and courteous demeanor.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Greets and welcomes members and visitors to the Credit Union in a courteous, professional, and timely manner; and refers members and visitors to appropriate staff as needed.
    2. Maintains Member Log and manages the flow of business through the Member Service area and the Teller Line in a pleasant and helpful manner.
    3. Answers questions, provides literature, and assist members and visitors as required.
    4. Organizes and sets up reception and common areas for daily activity with the necessary forms, brochures, and supplies.
    5. Informs members of credit union products and services, explaining features and benefits; and cross-sells products and services when appropriate and within scope of responsibility.
    6. Maintains up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of all products and services that are handled or promoted by Teller staff.
    7. Maintains up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of all related policies and procedures, and external rules and regulations for the teller area, including robbery procedures.
    8. Answers phones and routes calls to appropriate personnel and/or takes messages.
    9. Sort/Send mail and other communication as needed or directed.
    10. Order department supplies as requested.
    11. Attends training sessions upon request.
    12. Adheres to the anti-money laundering policy and the Bank Secrecy laws.
    13. Assumes other duties as new products, services, or technology are introduced.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

    1. Professional and pleasant interpersonal and communication skills are essential for serving members, cross-selling products, and projecting a positive image as representative of the Credit Union.
    2. Work requires general knowledge of all credit union products and services.
    3. Position requires the ability to multitask and handle criticism and/or difficult interactions in a diplomatic method.
    4. Position requires education equivalent to a four-year high school education with proficiency in the use of computer equipment including some basic software.
    5. Position requires limited office experience or member service experience of up to 6 months.
    6. Position requires the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions. Requires the ability to effectively communicate with members or employees and to solve day-to-day problems involving several variables in standard situations.
    7. Intermediate mathematical skill required (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, percentages, interest) are required.
    8. Position requires standing or sitting for the majority of the day.
