Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care.
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to clients in their homes or residential settings
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and report any changes in client's condition or behavior
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including lifting and positioning clients
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by supervisors
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
Requirements:
- Previous experience in personal care or related field preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques is a plus
- Ability to provide compassionate care with empathy and respect
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (if required for the position)
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects or individuals as needed
- Familiarity with home care procedures and techniques
- Experience in dementia care is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
